advanced baby monitors

Technology

Product Technology:
Cradlesafe has adopted and applied new innovative technology to accurately monitor the breathing and movement of the baby whilst it sleeps.

The products use the technology of accelerometers to monitor any movement in breathing and in body orientation. This represents a leap in technology within the industry. No other existing products in this sector use this patented technology. The accelerometer device is found in the ‘baby unit’, which is clipped onto the nappy before the baby is put to bed.

baby movement monitors

Breathing:
The Baby Unit monitors the number of breaths per minute (BPM). This is achieved by monitoring the baby’s abdomen movements. The Baby Unit collects and calculates the data every 5 seconds to determine the number of BPM. The data is sent to the Hub Unit which is then transmitted to the Parent Unit. The product has been programmed to collect the data every 5 seconds in order to ensure a completely accurate reading of the baby’s breathing and movement.

The monitor is programmed within certain parameters for the breathing feature. If the baby’s breathing rate is between 20 -40 BPM there will be no alarm. If, however, the baby’s breathing rate moves out-with the set parameters then the audio and visual alarm will sound to alert the parent.

Movement:
As the device is placed on the baby’s abdomen, it can also monitor the orientation of the baby. If the baby moves into a position which causes distress, the Baby Unit will pick this movement up and relay it to the Hub Unit.

As with the breathing, the movement feature is set to certain safety parameters.  If movement is detected between 90 and 270 degrees then the audio and visual alarms will be activated and parents alerted.

As the Baby Unit is continuously sending data to the Hub unit, parents can be assured that their baby is constantly being monitored safely and securely. And, if in the event, concerning movement or breathing occurs, the monitor will alert parents in ample time to ensure that the concern can be eliminated, unlike other respiratory monitors which sound only when the breathing has stopped after 20 seconds.
